Attorney-General Abdel Majid Mahmoud ordered the four day detainment of Mohamed Sobhy al-Shennawi, also known as the "eye hunter.” Shennawi is accused of aiming for protesters' eyes on Mohamed Mahmoud Street during clashes in Cairo's Tahrir Square protests. The lieutenant turned himself in on Wednesday to be interrogated regarding his alleged crimes against peaceful protesters. The accused came to the prosecution building accompanied by heavy guard and his defense lawyer Tarek Gamil. “My client did not turn himself in, as he was aware that some internet sites published his home address and even a reward in case he was arrested,” said Gamil. "Shennawi turned himself in after having a defense lawyer," he added.
