CAIRO: Likely Egyptian presidential candidate Mohamed el-Baradei today praised the heavy turnout during the first phase of the parliamentary elections. “The will of the Egyptian people, which surprised the world in 18 days, is the same that pushed voters to participate in these elections,” el-Baradei said. “The Egyptian people expressed their will and chose their parliament that represents all people.” El-Baradei also sent greetings to the families of the January 25 Revolution martyrs saying, “the families of those killed during the revolution have the thanks of these elections.” “Without their sacrifices, we could not have held these elections” said el-Baradei. El-Baradei also sent greetings to those injured in the revolution as well as all Egyptian people.
