CAIRO: The Supreme Electoral Council has granted 10 international organizations permission to supervise the Egyptian elections by sending 300 monitors, Youm7 learned. The monitors represent a number of American organizations including the International Republican Institute (I.R.I.), National Democratic Institute (N.D.I.) and the Carter Organization. Danish, Polish, Turkish, and South African organizations also obtained permits to supervise the parliamentary elections, in addition to two other Arab organizations. Amnesty International has also sent a team of its staff to monitor any violations committed during the electoral process and expected violent clashes the elections may witness. A number of Egyptian organizations are also set to participate in monitoring the parliamentary elections.
