CAIRO: Certain political figures, including revolutionary Imam Mazhar Shaheen, political activist Ahmed Darag, and artists Amr el-Qadi and Mohammad Awad, agreed to form people committees to secure the entrances and exits of Tahrir Square during parliamentary elections Monday and Tuesday. They also agreed to launch "Tahrir Square Revolutionaries" radio to broadcast official statements and news regarding protesters in the square. Commenting on rumors claiming that the Tahrir protesters are crippling the vote, Awad said Tahrir is the square of Egyptian revolution. He said the square asks for Egyptians' demands, especially that the ruling military council should go the way of ousted president Hosni Mubarak. The sit-in will not stop voting at all since Tahrir has no any polling stations, he added.
