Muslim Imams welcome el-Ganzouri, reject el-Baradei

CAIRO: Muslim Imams in the Egyptian Ministry of Religious Affairs (Awqaf) today rejected any move to make Mohamed el-Baradei the new Egyptian Prime Minister and instead welcomed the decision to appoint Kamal el-Ganzouri to the post.
They also announced their support of the ruling military council through the parliamentary elections.
“All Muslim Imams today pledge their support for Kamal el-Ganzouri and welcome him as the new prime minister,” a statement released today read. “We pray to God to help you in this very challenging mission.”
