CAIRO: Egypt's Central Security Forces are using chloride and CR gases to disperse protesters in Mohamed Mahmoud Street, near Tahrir Square, according to eyewitnesses. Both of these gases are internationally prohibited for use against civilians. The smell of the strange gases has drifted into Tahrir Square, although they are deployed by CSF forces stationed near the Ministry of Interior at the end of Mohamed Mahmoud Street. Hundreds of demonstrators were forced to withdraw to the end of the square to escape from these gases last night. Field clinics have received many demonstrators who fainted or suffered from asphyxia as a result of the gasses. Much of the tear gas used by the CSF forces has long-range impact, allowing its effects to reach all the way to Tahrir Square. Arabic here
