A member of the presidential council of the Free Egyptians Party, Hani Seri el-Din, said the party decided not to participate in dialogue between political forces and the Supreme Council of Armed Forces, unless the violence against demonstrators is completely stopped. He also said they should submit an official apology for violence against peaceful demonstrators in Tahrir Square and during the Maspiro Clashes. He added that they should accept the resignation of Essam Sharaf's government and form a national salvation government. Seri el-Din said the exit from the transitional phase with a constitutional, democratic, and stable rule, the cessation of bloodshed, and return of the country's security could not be achieved unless there is a national salvation government. He demanded the new government be headed by Mohamed el-Baradei, saying he has the qualifications enabling him to carry this responsibility.
