CAIRO: Egyptian Central Security Forces fired tear gas at demonstrators gathered in the Egyptian capitol's iconic Tahrir Square this afternoon. There have been eight reported injuries. Hours earlier military police cleared the square of demonstrators and a potential sit-in. Thousands of demonstrators rallied in Mohamed Mahmoud Street in downtown Cairo and threw stones at the security forces, while the forces used tear gas to disperse the demonstrators.
