CAIRO: Chairman of al-Wafd Party Sayyid al-Badawi said the million man protest scheduled for November 18 is just a show of force, adding that political powers have no right in using protests to show their force to people. He also said 50,000 or 100,000 protesters in Tahrir Square do not necessarily represent the whole Egyptian nation, estimated at 85 million. Badawi said in an interview with al-Arabiya channel the Freedom and Justice Party approved el-Selmy's document but did not sign it emphasizing when they discussed the document with chief in staff Sami Anan they decided the document should not determine the constitution. The Freedom and Justice Party thought it unfair next generations become bound by this document when they wanted to change the constitution in accordance with the changes in their era, said Badawi. Badawi revealed that al-Wafd Party's alliance with the Muslim Brotherhood is purely political and happened after an initiative by MB guide Mohamed Badei. He also said he prefers the ruling system become a semi presidential one, similar to France. He added the party will announce its presidential candidate once parliamentary elections are done.
