CAIRO: The elections for the People's Assembly and the Shura Council will be held in three stages, beginning on November 28 and concluding in March, said Judge Abdel Moaiz Ibrahim, the head of the Egyptian Supreme Electoral Committee. “The committee is making serious efforts to ensure that expatriate Egyptians have the opportunity to vote in the parliamentary elections,” said Ibrahim. Expatriate Egyptians are currently registering to vote in embassies and consuls abroad as well as on the Committee's website, he said. The registration period will end on November 19. The Committee will follow all judicial rules and execute all electoral laws during the process, he said, adding that violations will be handled firmly. “The Supreme Electoral Committee will announce the final lists of candidates soon,” Ibrahim said. “This will include both the party lists and the individual lists as well as their campaign slogans.”
