“Egypt can not compensate the January 25 Revolution victims, because there is no suitable compensation for their sacrifice,” said Mohsen al-Fangary, a member of Egypt's Supreme Council of the Armed Forces and deputy director of the Medical and Social Fund for January 25 Revolution victims. Fangary said reports published Friday that said that 30,000 EGP (U.S. $5,033) would be paid in compensation to those injured in the revolution were just lies. He said that the fund presents financial support for the those injured in the revolution as a medical and social service. Financial support is estimated at 5,000 EGP (U.S. $839) for the injured and 15,000 EGP (U.S. $2,517) for the handicapped. Fangary said the 30,000 EGP was for the families of those killed, and called on media to investigate the accuracy of their reports. He also said that the fund is the only source for information and statement about victims of the revolution.
