KAFR EL-SHEIKH, Egypt: Security forces intensified their presence in Balteem to secure the area and prevent any attempt to fuel the situation again after previous clashes left four dead and over 70 injured. About 2,000 military police and security forces gathered in the separating area between Balteem and Sook al-Tholathaa residents in the Nile Delta, while a number of army personnel spread in Balteem markets. Meanwhile, Balteem witnessed the closure of its shops, while Kafr el-Sheikh Governor Ahmed Zaki Abdeen decided to provide governmental authorities, banks and schools with an official vacation. A number of Balteem's residents gathered in front of al-Qods Mosque preparing to confront any potential attack, while the residents of Sook al-Tholathaa waited at the entrance of their village.
