Egypt is hosting the second Arab Water forum from November 20 to 23. The forum will be hosted under the Arab League and the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation. The forum's slogan is ‘Coexistence with water scarcity,' aiming to put a strategy and achieve Arab water security and set law of shared Arab water resources. General Secretariat of Arab League, Nabil al-Arabi and Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Hisham Qandil, will attend the forum opening session. Head of the Arab Water Council Mahmoud Abu Zeid announced the forum will be preceded by a meeting for the board of governors of the Council Arab water on November 19. The board of governors and Ministers of Water Resources in five Arab countries including Egypt, Iraq, Algeria, Mauritania and Jordan will attend the meeting. Abu Zeid assured the forum will discuss some main issues such as deals and international laws controlling shared water, especially the water issue in Palestine, Jordan and Israel's acquisition of Arab water. The forum will also discuss the issue of shared water, especially the water issue in Degla and Forat Niles between Turkey, Syria, Iraq and some aquifers in Arab region. Abu Zeid stressed on the most important aim of the forum including preparing the document of Arab water security and shared water in Arab countries, set road maps to confront water scarcity in Arab region such as desalination of seawater and using groundwater.
