CAIRO: Egypt's ruling Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) opened an investigation into the Masonic gathering scheduled to be held around the Great Pyramid at Giza, sources told Youm7. The sources said the SCAF will investigate with Supreme Council of Antiquities regarding the event organized for November 11 by Masonic and Jewish organizations around the Great Pyramid. The SCAF formed a committee from Egypt's public prosecution office to investigate SCA Chairman Mustafa Amin's decision to approve the gathering in direct contradiction of the memorandum issued by Ali al-Asfar, the head of the Giza Pyramids archaeological area, refusing such a gathering. Investigations will include a number of prominent archaeological officials including Amin and al-Asfar and the chairmen of the Coptic and Islamic monuments sector.
