The U.S. urges that different countries, particularly Gulf States, offer support to Egypt to spur the democratic transition in process, said Bill Taylor, an official in the U.S. State Department. The U.S. cannot offer immediate aid to resolve the monetary liquidity crisis in Egypt because the 2011 U.S. budget was prepared two years ago, Taylor continued. “If I were the Egyptian Minister of Finance I would accept the money offered by the International Monetary Fund, the International Bank or Gulf States,” he said in a press statement. The U.S. can only expand its trade relations with Tunisia, Egypt and Libya by receiving exports, he added, claiming that this could help resolve the liquidity crisis.
