Dozens of Coptic Christians organized a protest on Thursday November 3 in Shubra to demand the release of all detainees in military prisons and to condemn military trials for civilians and the events of sectarian violence in the Maspiro clashes. They demand the trial of the Minister of Information Osama Heikal for inciting sectarian strife, following the media coverage of Egyptian state television of the events of the Maspiro clashes and the trial of head of military police Hamdy Badeen for being responsible for the deaths of protestors. The demonstrators chanted slogans, "Mina Daniel died, killed, and Tantawi is responsible," while a number of passer-by expressed distaste upon hearing demonstrators chanting against the chairman of Egypt's ruling military council Hussein Tantawi. A number of security cars were on standby to maintain security. A number of Facebook groups such as, "The Youth Federation of Maspiro," "We are all Mina Daniel," and the “Second revolution of Anger," organized the protests to denounce the events of the Maspiro clashes.
