An Egyptian ferry with 1,230 passengers caught fire after leaving the Jordanian port of Aqaba Thursday. “Billa,” belonging to the company “Arabian Bridge,” caught fire 20 miles from Aqaba on route to the port of Nuweiba in the Sinai Peninsula. The fire started in the ferry's garage. The ferry stopped 19 miles away from Nuweiba, and a ferry belonging to the same company was sent to save the passengers. Navy forces in South Sinai governorate were notified to assist in the rescue.
