Turkish ambassador to Cairo Hussein Awny today expressed his appreciation to the Egyptian people and government for its support of Turkey and Turkish people after the recent earthquake in eastern Turkey last week. “Egypt was one of the first countries that responded to the emergency status enacted by Turkey after the earthquake,” Awny said in a press statement. “Egypt sent planes with aid including 300 tents equipped with heat.” “The Egyptian ambassador to Ankara supervised the handling of the aid to the Turkish authorities,” he said. “The arrival of the Egyptian humanitarian aid coincided with Turkish National Day.” The Turkish ambassador added that he was deeply impressed by the feelings of Egyptians toward Turkish people.
