Ali Atta Ali, the father of Essam Ali Attia, the Torah prisoner who was tortured to death, said his son called his mother seven days ago and asked for her to bring a cell phone SIM card for him. The father continued about Essam also telling his mother a prison officer named Nour hit him because of clashes with another prisoner. The mother visited to her son and gave him the SIM card. The other prisoner saw her and told officer Nour that Essam has drugs. The officer kicked out Essam's mother and beat Essam. His mother heard him calling for help, “Help me mom, they're hitting me.” The next day, Essam called his mother asking her to transfer credit on the SIM card. He also asked her to file a lawsuit against the officer torturing him by forcing one hosepipe inside into his mouth and another one in his anus and pumping the inside of his body with water. The prisoners called Essam's mother another day, telling her that her son is dying because the officer took him to the torture room and tortured him. They said the officers returned Essam back to the cell and he was passing out. Prisoners cried out that he is dying but no one responded to them for two hours. Afterwards, Essam died and was transferred to a hospital. Essam's brother, Mohamed Attia, said his bother did not marry and he was arrested on February 25 under charge of stealing an apartment. Essam's brother assured Essam was innocent.
