CAIRO: The Egyptian Administrative Court chaired ordered the Egyptian government to form electoral voting centers in Egyptian Embassies abroad Tuesday, enabling expatriate Egyptians to vote in the upcoming elections. A number of the Egyptian expatriate groups filed a lawsuit against the chairman of the High Electoral Committee, the Egyptian Supreme Council of the Armed Forces, Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi, Egyptian Prime Minister Essam Sharaf, and Egyptian Minister of Interior Mansour el-Issawy to form voting centers in the Egyptian Embassies worldwide. The head of the Union of Egyptian Expats Abroad, Essam Abdel Moneim, led the initiative. The group noted that the SCAF vowed more than once to grant Egyptians abroad the right to vote, but never delivered on their promise. The group also highlighted that preventing Egyptian Expatriates the right to vote violates the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights
