CAIRO: Head of the Egyptian al-Wafd Party El-Sayyed el-Badawy today held a meeting with five members of the Party's Supreme Council. The meeting included Essam Ahah, Abdul Aziz, Sherif Taher, Mahmoud Zahid and Mustafa Raslan as well as 22 members of the High Authority and was convened to declare their condemnation of any rule allowing members of the disbanded National Democratic Party to run for parliament on the al-Wafd elections lists. The meeting, which lasted for two hours at the al-Wafd Party headquarters, discussed the position of the electoral lists and reviewed all members who are scheduled to run for parliament. In the event that any of the members of the former NDP are on the electoral list, a member on the Party's reserve list will replace them, Commission members said. The members concluded the meeting by signing an agreement in which all party members agreed to comply with the principles and strategies of the Party if a seat in Parliament is won.
