CAIRO: For all the Unemployed movement spokesman Khaled el-Hawary said he met on Tuesday with Maj. Gen. Mohsen el-Fangary, a member of Egypt's ruling Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF), at the Ministry of Defense headquarters in Cairo's Abbasiya neighborhood. El-Hawary said the meeting came after he received a call from one of the officers at the council to present the group's demands to the SCAF. Fangary received the group's demands, said el-Hawary, which include providing job opportunities for the group's members in either the public or private sector or paying a monthly stipend until there is a job opportunity. Their demands also include making the retirement age 55 instead of 60 years, in order to provide a chance to unemployed youth. El-Hawary said he was informed that the group's demands would be submitted to Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi, head of the SCAF. On October 25, the group intends to march to the Council of Ministers to submit their demands, el-Hawary added.
