Townhouse Gallery will host an event dedicated to a presentation of all forms of graffiti on October 22. The event will open with a presentation of the book “Arabic Graffiti,” by Don Karl Stone. Stone is an author well versed in graffiti. He began creating graffiti in 1983 and was one of the first artists of his kind in Germany. In 1986, Stone, with the help of Heyne Verlag, published his first book on trains, “Die Zuge Gehoren Uns” (The Train Belongs to Us). He has continued to write books throughout his career. There will also be a lecture at Townhouse called “Street Art, Design & Revolution.” This lecture will be delivered by street artist Mohamed Gaber and will include a Q&A as well as a meet and greet with the famous German graffiti crew, “MaClaim.” This group is known for its “fotorealistic” style. The event will end with a screening of “Wholetrain” (89 minutes), directed by Florian Gaag, a story of four graffiti writers in Munich.
