A demonstrator slapped Egyptian political activist, Asmaa Mahfouz, in front of the Coptic Hospital on Monday. The demonstrator blamed her and said, "you stood with the Salafis." Other demonstrators interfered and prevented their colleague from attacking Mahfouz. Priests apologized to her on behalf of the demonstrator who slapped her, explaining how the demonstrator was in grief over the death of his Coptic Christian brothers. Mahfouz told Youm7 she demanded to talk with the youth to clarify her refusal of the extremism of Salafis or secularists. She went to the Coptic Hospital to express solidarity with the Coptic Christian citizens after the Maspiro clashes. She demanded Egyptians to be cautious, especially in the current transitional stage. She warns of attempts of remnants of the dissolved National Democratic Party (NDP) and of fanatics working to destabilize Egypt.
