Links: Cairo University, Ain Shams University The Qatari publishing house Bloomsberry signed a contract with novelist Radwa Ashour to translate her novel “Farag” into English. The Arabic version of the novel was released in 2008 by El-Shorouk. Ashour, a novelist and a professor, wrote novels and short stories, as well as literary and cultural criticism. She was born in Cairo in 1946 and graduated from Cairo University's English section of the Faculty of Literature 1967. She studied African-American literature at the University of Massachusetts, earning her Masters degree in 1972 and her Ph.D. in 1975. She is now professor of English at Ain Shams University's Faculty of Literature. Her most famous novels are Atyaf, Farag, and Tantaweya. Bloomsberry has signed contracts with many important Arab novelists like: Gamal el-Ghetany, Ali Badr, Ahmed Khaled Tawfik, Ahmed Mourad, and Amgad Nasser.
