CAIRO: Security forces intensified their presence today in the area around Maspiro, the Egyptian television and radio building, as a precaution after last night's deadly clashes. At least 24 people were killed during hours of violent clashes between Egyptian military police and demonstrators. Dozens of security vehicles lined the Corniche, the road the runs along the Nile River. The area has been calm today. There were a few scuffles between Muslims and Christians on their way to work this morning, but security forces intervened to stop the scuffles and keep the area under control.
