CAIRO: Members of Egyptian's Coptic Christian community marched from Cairo's Shubra Square to Maspiro, the building that hosts several Egyptian television stations, Sunday, with dozens holding burial shrouds. Protestors asked the government to interfere and help solve crises facing Egypt's minority Coptic Christian community. Last week, Marinab church in the upper Egyptian province of Aswan was set alight. Protestors wearing white held crosses and the names of the victims of sectarian violence. Marchers changed slogans against the governor of Aswan and burnt his photo. “Maspiro today revealed Christian Egyptian citizens' soul. They are part of this nation,” said Archbishop Matthias Nasr. In Aswan, more than a thousand Christians protested before the governorate's headquarters Saturday. They demanded to punish those who are responsible for the church arson and rebuild the church. They also demanded to exclude Aswan governor and pass the law governing the construction of houses of worship. Arabic here
