CAIRO: The Al-Azhar Supreme Council agreed on Friday to teach the al-Azhar Document in al-Azhar schools, said Ismail Zawbaa, general secretary of the council. The council passed certain decisions concerning the elections of al-Azhar University deans and presidents. The council agreed to establish al-Azhar schools in certain areas and to amend Article 322 of Law No. 103 concerning increasing the value of students' life insurance from 25 piasters to 3 EGP (U.S. $0.04 to $0.51). The council also approved the establishment of a Faculty of Agricultural Engineering, to send 10 secretaries on a mission abroad, and to approve what was agreed by the Islamic Research Complex concerning promotions among al-Azhar preachers. The council also agreed to amend the executive regulations about international students.
