Egyptian presidential candidate, Mohamed el-Baradei, warned of the current economic situation and said, "if the economic situation continued within the current state of instability, Egypt will announce bankruptcy in the next six months." El-Baradei criticized the performance of Egypt's ruling military council in managing Egypt after the Egyptian January 25 Revolution. "Both the military council and the current government have no experience in managing a country," he said during a meeting with the workers of public and private sectors. The former high-profile diplomat demanded the current Egyptian government to suspend the Emergency Law, to also suspend military trials against civilians and to issue a law of political isolation to prevent members of the dissolved National Democratic Party (NDP) from participating in future political life. He also stressed the need to cleanse the media and ensure the independence of Egypt's judiciary, suggesting turning October 6 to a date of achieving these demands to ensure full credibility. El-Baradei called upon Egypt's ruling military council to respond to public demands to gain the confidence of Egyptians. He warned of losing the confidence between the public and the army is a real danger since the army is a part of the public. He raised the necessity of improving the lives of Egyptian workers, demanding authorities to work on improving the worker's wages to cope with the labor they perform. El-Baradei promised the workers to hold an integrating tour, aiming to support their demands. He said he will respond to their request to visit the city of Ramadan 10.
