CAIRO: The State Security Criminal Court for Emergencies adjourned the trail of Jordanian spy Ibrahim Abu Zeid and Israeli spy Ofeer Harari, who is being tried in absentia, until October 9 to review evidence. The session started at 11:00 am in the morning. Before the court was brought into session, Abu Zeid yelled out, "This case is fabricated, I did not say anything in investigation records and I did not even read them!" Abu Zeid's mother attended the trail and prevented journalists and photographers from taking photos of her son. The court also barred journalists from attending the next session. The defendant said he worked in the communications field with Harari, but did not ask about Harari's nationality. He denied the accusations leveled against him and said that he was only working in communications. A defense lawyer asked to see investigation reports and evidence, because he could not review them because they were considered a matter of national security. The court checked evidences including a laptop, papers, and investigation reports. Taher Kholi, the presiding judge, read an order revealing that Harari demanded that Abu Zeid to look for Egyptians who work in communications, and offer them Israeli instruments used to pass information to Israel. Kholi also asked Abu Zeid if he received information about Egyptians working in communications and whose jobs allow them to travel frequently. Abu Zeid is accused of working to establish relationships with those willing to work for Israel, and obtaining technical information about communication networks and mobile phones stations in Egypt. An attorney said that Harari asked Abu Zeid to prepare and Mobinil SIM cards to pass calls through Israeli sites. Investigations revealed that the Jordanian defendant worked in telecommunications in Egypt, and sent information related to Egypt's national security through using flash memory cards. After the Egyptian January 25 Revolution the Israeli intelligence service, the Mossad, requested the defendants to identify where Egyptians gathered and how to establish national committees. The Mossad also asked how Egyptians are exposed to theft, and who bombed the natural gas pipeline to Israel. Abu Zeid confessed to passing international Egyptian calls to Israel, enabling the Israeli government to record information
