ARISH, Egypt: The coordinator of the "Release of Egyptian Prisoners in Israel" campaign, Mahmoud Said Lutfi, said that the campaign's efforts contributed to the release of three Egyptian children detained in Israel, who will return to Cairo soon. “We had a tough dispute with Israeli prosecution and forced the Israeli judge to step down,” said Lutfi. "We also forced the Israeli court to try those children as children not as adults,” he added. “They received a sentence of two months imprisonment for infiltrating Israeli territory." According to Lutfi, Salah Ahmed, 13, Mohamed Selim, 15, and Fayez Abdel Hamid, 14, are on their way to Egypt through Awja border crossing. He also said that Egyptian prisoners in Israel receive the worst treatment, while international human rights organizations ignore them. The three children were arrested by an Israeli patrol on last July 14.
