Egypt press reported the Freedom and Justice Party deputy chairman announced nominating a candidate for the upcoming presidential elections although the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) previously opposed to nominate any MB member for the presidential elections.
Youm7:
Egyptian Central Auditing Organization revealed the Egyptian Television and Radio's Board of Trustees, Osama el-Sheikh, signed a contract with Cinema Atographe Company for Film Production to buy the Premiere of the movie "The Day We Met" at a value of U.S. $181,000. According to the contract, the provision was against the Union's right since it bears 45 percent of total value of the movie, estimated at 2 million EGP (U.S. $).
Al-Ahram:
Egyptian Court of Cassation deputy chairman Ahmed Mekki called on judicial power to accelerate the parliamentary elections as fast as possible since it is the only way to not push Egypt into a state of chaos. He added the chairman of Egypt's ruling milirtay council Hussein Tantawi's testimony in the former President Hosni Mubarak's trial is effective in the trial. Mekki noted the threat of chaos is more dangerous than the threat of Emergency Law.
Al-Masry Al-Youm:
Member of Egyptian Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) Mohsen el-Fangary is the deputy chairman of the Egyptian January 25 Revolution martyrs' fund. He did not state the definition of ‘revolution martyr' and denied saying those who died before the police stations and prisons are martyrs. He added his remarks were to make the martyrs' relatives submit papers and forms concerning the martyrs and the injured only.
Al-Akhbar:
The Democratic Alliance of Freedom and Justice Party will nominate a presidential candidate likely to win the elections, according to the party deputy chairman, Essam el-Erian.
He said the party itself will oppose nominating any candidate from the MB through the alliance.
As for firing the presidential candidate Hazem Abu Ismail form the MB since he ran for presidential elections, el-Erian said firing him was the MB's decision and he el-Erian did not know anything about the decision to fire Abu Ismail.
El-Erian also denied any possible relation between the MB and Al-Wafd Party since it is claimed the MB will take control over the People Assembly while Al-Wafd party will control the Shura Council.
He added the Freedom and Justice Party will refuse and requests for former National Democratic Party members to join the Democratic alliance.
In other news, the security state in Sinai Peninsula is stable after the succession of the Eagle operation, carried out by military forces in cooperation with police forces, according to sources.
The sources added there is no restrict on increasing Egyptian forces in Sinai. They noted what was published in Israeli newspapers about the involvement of Egyptian elements in Eilat attacks are just deductions and unproven accusations.
Al-Shorouq:
"The Turkish constitution is the worst of all constitutions and cannot be applied in Egypt," said Egyptian presidential candidate, Mohammad Selim el-Awa. He will not give up the presidential nomination and he has no fear of Islamists.
El-Awa said a year is enough for the SCAF to govern Egypt in shadow of this weak government. He noted the SCAF and the Egyptian Cabinet are able to transport Egypt toward a democratic life if the SCAF follows the steps of declaring a constitution.
Al-Gomhorreya:
The legal aspect of the Unified Building of Worship Places law will be activated after holding the parliamentary elections, said Egyptian Minister of Local Development, Mohammad Atei.
He said the ministry coordinated with the governors to get rid of all illegal actions on agricultural land.
