CAIRO: Chief of the Supreme Council of Egyptian Armed Forces (SCAF) Mohamed Hussein Tantawi today confirmed that he will testify tomorrow in front of the Criminal Court where ousted Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, his two sons Gamal and Alaa, former Interior Minister Habib al-Adly and his six security aides stand trial for killing peaceful protestors during the January 25 Revolution. Tantawi claims that military leaders should appear at military, not civil, courts, but he decided to testify in order to respect the rule of law, a principle that is now wholly embraced after the January 25 Revolution. “Egypt is changing to a better future,” Tantawi said while praising the armed forces' role in Egypt's history, including taking the helm during this transitional stage.
