CAIRO: The Egyptian youth are the country's key to politically, economically and socially developing Egypt during the transitional period and improving Egypt's international image, said al-Ghad Party Chairman Ayman Nour. “Egypt's youth paid the price and it is now time to bridge the divide between transition and the Egyptian renaissance, for which all Egyptians are hoping,” Nour said at the Association of Sharing in Social Development meeting in Club Manshiet Helwan. The likely presidential candidate also spoke of Egypt's past elections, the lack of transparency and the urgent need to confront electoral problems to achieve the goals of the January 25 Revolution. “People must choose and correct mistakes in order to practice democratic life correctly,” he added. “There must be an election law providing Egyptians a real chance to practice democracy,” Nour said. “This law must be accompanied by monitoring in order to guarantee the peoples' right to vote.” Nour added that he does not mind former National Democratic Party members running for president, so long as the Egyptian people drive them to failure.
