NORTH SINAI, Egypt: Three members of the al-Fawakhria tribe in the Sinai Peninsula were referred to the military prosecutor for possessing unlicensed weapons, and disrupting public security after they closed a public road in town of Arish in North Sinai Governorate. Head of security in North Sinai, Saleh Manour, said Egyptian Law would be applied to maintain security. Sources said there were contacts between dignitaries in Arish and military and police officials to discuss the repercussions of the incident. Leading figures of the tribe met at the home of one of the accused to calm down the situation until the results of the investigation. After detention of the three men, the al-Fawakhria tribe staged a demonstration, closing a road.
