Prime Minister Essam Sharaf appointed Dr Mohamed Omran Chairman of the Egyptian Stock Exchange, succeeding Mohamed Abdel Salam. Omran served as Vice Chairman of the Insurance Holding Company for Operations. Before holding that position, he was Vice Chairman of the Egyptian Stock Exchange for four years. From 2006 until 2010, he was a finance professor at the Faculty of Commerce and Technology at the Arab Academy for Science and Technology. The Prime Minister also appointed Khaled Nashar Vice President of the exchange.
