Documents reveal fabricated corruption cases for revolution activists
Published in Youm7 on 22 - 09 - 2011

CAIRO: Egypt's current security systems are still carrying out the dissolved State Security system to fabricate accusations for politic activists.
Youm7 got hold of a memo sent to the Egyptian Ministry of Housing on September 10. The memo asked the head of urban cities development to check the prosperities of the April 6 Movement leaders and activists.
The memo includes demands for investigations about:
• Ahmed Maher, founder of the April 6 Movement
• Mohamed Adul, media spokesman and member of the Political Bureau of the April 6 Movement
• Asmaa Mahfouz, former member of April 6 Movement
• Esra Abdul Fattah
• Basim Samir, executive director of Democratic Egyptian Institute
• Basim Fathi, a member of the Freedom House in Cairo
• Ahmed Salah al-Din Attia, political activist
The memo had detailed information about these activists, such as their birth dates, social status, educational qualifications and their current jobs. The Egyptian Ministry of Housing proved the mentioned names do not own any properties, whether by contract or allocation.
Basim Samer said this technique ensures Egypt's systems are still carrying out the old ways of the former regime's system. He calls to direct these investigations against those who looted and corrupted Egypt. He also wondered if the Egyptian Minister of Housing has the right to invest about the activists' prosperities.
Asmaa Mahfouz said the Egyptian government should investigate the properties of remnants of the former regime. She considered this a distraction for Egyptians.
“The government is distracting Egyptians by investigating about political activists' prosperities rather than restoring Egyptian funds stolen through corruption,” Asmaa said.
Mohamed Adel said what is happening is a violation of human rights. These investigations were carried out without judicial permission. These investigations are considered part of the Emergency Law even when they were promised statements assured this law will not be applied against political activists.
Esra Abdul Fatah expressed her happiness about these investigations, which proves their honesty. She looks forward to revealing the investigations results and publish their real prosperities for public opining.
