The Egyptian Tourism Board will host the high-profile French broadcaster, Nicholas Elijas, and a French delegation composed of ten representatives of major French newspapers and magazines. The visit comes among efforts to support Egyptian tourism that has declined in the aftermath of the January 25 Revolution and to encourage tourism from France, according to the Head of the International Tourism Sector, Samy Mahmoud. He expected that the delegation would meet with Egyptian Minister of Tourism Mounir Fakhry Abdel Nour to respond to all questions about the current situation in Egypt and its effects on tourism. France ranks fifth among countries sending tourism to Egypt. In 2010 the number of French tourists increased to 600,000.
