A woman who pretended to be dead when her husband tried to kill her grabbed the attention of a cemetery security guard after being left in a mausoleum. The story was revealed by police Captain Ahmed Saleh on television program Masr el-Gedida (New Egypt). The incident occurred when an officer of Matay police station in Minya was checking a cemetery where a man had buried his wife after he thought he killed her for cheating on him. Captain Saleh said a husband had attempted to kill his wife after discovering she was cheating on him. After killing his wife and her lover, the man left his wife's body in a mausoleum in the cemetary. When the officer went with the husband to check the cemetery, he was surprised when the man's wife grabbed his leg and said, “Help me before I die!” The woman did not die after her husband stabbed her but pretended to be dead until the police arrived. She was transferred to a hospital and prosecution has begun investigating the incident. The status of the woman's supposed lover was not revealed.
