CAIRO: A new slum development project has finished counting all the slum markets in 11 of Egypt's governorates, according to the project's executive director, Ali el-Faramawy. He said the results will be sent to the Council of Ministers to receive financial aid from the council to develop these area in cooperation with the governorates as a prelude to incorporating these markets into the official trade of the state. El-Faramawy said the project is considered one of the policies and programs to organize these markets. This organization will provide loans to small traders to increase their business. For Upper Egypt governorates and slum regions, el-Faramawy said there are development procedures in Aswan governorate, where there is financial aid estimated at 31 million EGP to develop this region and another 8 million EGP to improve some regions in Sohag governorate.
