Egyptian Minister of Information Osama Heikal said Egypt's ruling military council will meet with Egyptian political powers on Sunday. They will discuss details and systems of the next parliamentary elections to ensure its integrity. Heikal added the meeting will be attended by a number of judges of the High Constitutional Court to ensure the constitutional measures they will reach during the meeting. He added the decision was made after the political powers' protests about the recent law of elections. Heikal denied the claims that he wanted to shut down Al-Jazeera channel, saying he has no problems against the channel, while he is working on implementing the law. He expressed frustration at the report issued by the National Council for Human Rights, which included false information about the closure of the satellite channels. He added chaos spreading in the media is more dangerous than the state of insecurity, since there should be freedom and respect towards the laws in Egypt. He said there were six offices that have licenses to work in Egypt; when they didn't renew their licenses, the ministry cautioned them. He said Al-Jazeera worked without a license, which violates Egypt's sovereignty. He told the channel they could file a case against him if they already have a license to work in Egypt, stressing his support for the Qatari state.
