Supporters of the political prisoner Omar Abdel Rahman joined the martyrs' families outside the police academy, where the former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak's, his sons Alaa and Gamal, the former Minister of Interior, Habib al-Adly, and six of al-Adly's assistants are being tried in court. It is important to mention Omar Abdel Rahman is a political prisoner who was arrested by U.S. authorities. There was a state of calm outside the police academy amid the absence of Mubarak's opponents and supporters at the beginning of the trial. Some martyrs' families started moving outside the police academy during the former Minister of Interior, Mahmoud Wagdy's, testimony. Abdel Rahman's supporters, who were outside the police academy during all previous hearings, joined the martyrs' families. Abdel Rahman's supporters called upon Egyptian authorities to take action towards the U.S. authorities considering the release of Omar Abdel Rahman.
