CAIRO: The Cairo Criminal court refused five requests submitted by former president Hosni Mubarak's lawyer, said a judicial source. Farid el-Deeb is defending Mubarak against accusation he ordered the killing of demonstrators during the January 25 Revolution. Deeb submitted five requests to presiding Judge Ahmed Refaat requesting: • Permission for the court to grant defense lawyers a copy of the investigation of Mubarak's real estate holdings in Sharm el-Sheikh • A copy of the Illicit Gain Authority's investigation of Mubarak's wealth • Lists of the names of dead and injured demonstrators during the revolution from the Egyptian Ambulance Organization • Allowing defense lawyers a photo copy of all documents and files in the case • Postponing the trial until considering the files of the case. The trial could last for five years, as 16,000 witnesses could testify. The court has been requested to summon Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi, head of the ruling Supreme Council of the Armed Forces, to testify. Deeb requested memory cards containing the case against Mubarak, his sons, and Egyptian Business tycoon Hussein Salem. He added that he has not received 43 files from the prosecution's investigation.
