CAIRO: For the first time, an Egyptian Categorical Labor Union for employees of Information Centers for Local Development will be formed throughout the governorates of Egypt after the Egyptian January 25 Revolution, said the House of labor and syndicate services. Nine governorates representatives attended the general assembly of the new Union. 17 members were chosen to the general assembly and the executive council of the union. The general assembly set out regulations for the new union. The regulations provide a syndicate session of the union will take place once a year. Under the new regulations, the executive council is responsible for negotiating, signing contracts and agreements concerning work activities with all ministries and governmental entities. The council will also discuss and mull the bills concerning the workers and employees' affairs. The members of the assembly seek to continue the formation of union syndicates in all governorates. The union aims to discuss appointing workers officially into their jobs and the problem with their wages.
