ASWAN, Egypt: Nubian protestors refused any attempt of reconciliation with the governor of Aswan, Mostafa al-Said. Nubian protestors in Aswan are continuing their protest for the second day in front of Aswan's governorate headquarters. The assistant of Egypt's Minister of Interior and Aswan's chief of security, Ahmed Deef Saqr, and military adviser, Alaa Shalthot, among other army and police leaders promised the Nubian protestors to present their demands to the chairman of Egypt's ruling military council, Field Marshall Hussein Tantawi, to solve the current crisis. The Nubians refused all their promises and pointed out the promises were all pointless “painkillers.” They also said Nubians suffered since the displacement process in 1902. Nubians accused the governor of Aswan of wasting their rights of resettling on the shores of Lake Nasser by nominating unqualified lawyers to defend their case. They also said the governor of Aswan promised to establish seven big investment projects for them in order to serve Nubians. "We will not allow any internal or external attempt to interfere to solve our crisis. Nubians can express their affairs without negotiation," they said. It should be mentioned 2,000 Nubians gathered yesterday and formed a march in Corniche Street in Aswan. They demanded to fire the governor of Aswan and support the Nubian case. The Nubian protestors broke into Aswan's governorate headquarters. Related News: Nubians broke into, burned government headquarters in Aswan
