ADDIS ABABA: The new Egyptian ambassador in Ethiopia, Mohamed Fathy Edris arrived Addis Ababa today. Officials of the Ethiopian Foreign Ministry received him. Edris said his main mission is to build confidence and understanding, to support cooperation and coordination and to overcome problems and misunderstanding between Egypt and Ethiopia. “Ethiopian Prime Minister, Meles Zenawi, is coming to visit Egypt where he will be welcomed and appreciated by Egyptians,” Edris said. He added this visit will be a step to develop the relationship between both countries. The joint ministerial committee will be held before Zenawi's visit in order to discuss the visit of Egyptian Prime Minister Essam Sharaf and the national diplomatic delegation to Addis Ababa in May. The Ethiopian Republican Palace sent a private car to Addis Ababa Airport to transfer Edris to the Egyptian Embassy headquarters in Addis Ababa.
