Egypt's Coptic Christian Church launched its third satellite channel, the St. Mark Channel, on Nilesat. Bishop Ermiah, secretary of Pope Shenouda III, head of the church, oversees the channel. The channel is part of the Coptic Heritage Centre, which was recently inaugurated by Pope Shenouda. The pope is the head of the Board of Directors of the channel, which is the official mouthpiece of the church. The channel will broadcast church news, act as its mouthpiece and screen documentaries about the church's history and culture. The first channel launched by the church was the Agape Channel and the second was "CTV."
