CAIRO: The New Egyptian Ambassador in Ethiopia, Mohamed Idris, announced today Ethiopian Prime Minister, Melis El-Zinawy's, visit to Egypt on September 17. A meeting will precede the visit for the Egyptian-Ethiopian committee on September 15, which will last for two days and headed by the ministers of Foreign affairs of both countries. “The committee will present different sides of Egyptian-Ethiopian relations, especially those related to trade, investment, scientific research, health and joint ventures between both countries,” said Idris before he leaves Cairo tomorrow to Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, to take over his new position. There will be also a follow up to the tripartite committee established during the visit of Egyptian Prime Minister Essam Sharaf. This tripartite committee includes Egypt, Ethiopia and international consulting parties to research the technical aspects related to El-Nahda Ethiopian Dam. “Zinawy's visit to Egypt will enrich the new stage of Egyptian-Ethiopian relations after the Egyptian January 25 Revolution,” said Idris. He added Zinawy will be welcomed by chairman of the Supreme Council of Armed Forces (SCAF), Hussein Tantawi, and Egyptian Prime Minister Essam Sharaf. It is important to mention this visit is preceded by the visit of the National Diplomatic Delegation to Ethiopia and also Prime Minister Essam Sharaf's visit, which reflects the shared political determination between both countries.
