Links: January 25 Revolution, Egyptian youth can climb the walls of the American embassy in Cairo to peacefully demand the release of Omar Abdel-Rahman, the blind Sheikh imprisoned in America in connection with the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, said the Islamic preacher Safwat Hegazy. Hegazy recently visited with the family of Abdel-Rahman outside the American embassy to show solidarity. “The January 25 Revolution was designed to achieve freedom for all powers, including Islamic ones, and the legal demands raised by the Abdel-Rahman family are part of it,” said the Islamic preacher Mazhar Shahin. Potential presidential candidate Hazem Salah Abou-Ismail also voiced his support for the Abdel-Rahman family and urges all Islamic believers to intervene to offer support for the family. “The ruling military council and the Egyptian government should take serious steps to resolve the issue,” said author Abdel-Haleem Kandeel.
