CAIRO: The Israeli Army announced the deployment of additional Israeli troops along the Egypt-Israeli border Monday morning, said Israeli Army spokesman Aoiv Mordechai. Israel claimed it will deploy more Israeli troops to deter any threats. The claim was made after the latest incidents in Eilat, in which eight Israeli passengers were killed and 30 injured by unknown gunmen. It also comes after the deaths of Egyptian troops by the Israeli Army along the border. Mordechai added that Israeli Army Chief of Staff Benny Jants asserted Israel's approval to deploy more Israeli troops along the borders in coordination with the Egyptian administration to keep peace between both sides. Israel already deployed additional troops along is southern border with the Gaza Strip to be on alert after gathering information about a possible attack on Israeli cities by the Islamic Jihad Movement in Gaza, Mordechai continued. Jants is regularly inspecting the security state on Israel's borders with Egypt after the Eilat incidents. He held a meeting with top Israeli officials to discuss the situation, according to Mordechai. Jants warned officials of terrorists in Sinai who could launch terrorist attacks in Israel through the Egyptian border. He highlighted the necessity of deploying more troops and spy planes to examine the borders. He also warned of terrorist groups in the Gaza Strip, especially Hamas.
